About the Role

Livewell Southwest is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Approved Mental Health Professional to join our team. As an AMHP, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with complex mental health needs and contributing to the overall work of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct statutory assessments on behalf of the local authority under the Mental Health Act.
  • Work within the AMHP team to provide mental health professional input to Plymouth's Joint Response Unit (JRU) vehicle.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to other mental health and social care services as required.
  • Contribute to the overall work of the team, including supporting people with complex mental health difficulties.
Requirements
  • Current professional registration with a relevant professional body (occupational therapist, psychologist, nurse, or social worker).
  • Successful completion of AMHP training.
  • Post-approval training record (covering 18 days for each 12-month approved).
  • Experience of coordinating and carrying out Mental Health Act Assessments in a range of settings.
  • Experience of preparing and presenting social circumstances reports to MHRTs.
