About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Livewell Southwest. As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals experiencing mental health crises.

Working within our Acute Crisis Pathway, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the needs of individuals in crisis, providing timely and effective interventions to prevent hospital admissions and promote recovery.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals and their families.

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be expected to demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring junior staff, contributing to the development of training programs, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage the needs of individuals in crisis, providing timely and effective interventions to prevent hospital admissions and promote recovery.
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals and their families.
  • Lead and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of training programs, ensuring that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide effective care and support.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance service delivery.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or equivalent qualification.
  • Postgraduate qualification in mental health or a related field.
  • Experience of working in a mental health crisis setting, with a focus on acute care and crisis intervention.
  • Excellent clinical skills, with a strong understanding of mental health assessment and treatment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals and teams.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care and service delivery.
