Support Specialist

Victim Support is a leading charity in the UK, providing support to victims of crime and their families. We are currently seeking a Support Specialist to join our team in Cornwall.
The successful candidate will be based at home, working with a caseload of clients affected by crime, providing safety and support plans, and working closely with volunteers and other local providers.
We offer a competitive salary of £26,010 per annum, plus an additional £350 Home Working Allowance, making it a total of £26,360 per annum.
About the RoleThis is a full-time role, requiring 37.5 hours per week, with a requirement to work one day per week from 10:15am to 6:15pm on a rota basis.
As a Support Specialist, you will:
- Develop and deliver safety and support plans for clients, including providing resources and information.
- Work with volunteer supporters to provide a seamless service to clients.
- Liaise with other local providers to share information and options for victims and survivors.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records using our case management system.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Understanding of the impact of crime on victims, including domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and anti-social behaviour.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience of delivering services in a statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency setting.
- Ability to balance competing needs and priorities.
- Personal resilience to manage exposure to highly emotional or sensitive demands of the role.
- A driving license and access to a vehicle, as regular travel is required.
