About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer/Deputy Sheriff to join our team at the City of Birmingham. As a key member of our public safety team, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and responding to emergency calls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine patrols to provide a visible police presence and prevent crime.
  • Respond to emergency calls and incidents, using your skills and judgment to resolve situations safely and effectively.
  • Enforce laws and regulations, and investigate crimes to bring perpetrators to justice.
  • Provide support and assistance to the public, and work closely with other law enforcement agencies to achieve common goals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license.
  • Previous experience in law enforcement or a related field, or completion of a police academy training program.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of law enforcement procedures and protocols, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
