DevOps Engineer

The starting salary is £51,196, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.
£48,355 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,730A location allowance of £1,841A non-pensionable allowance of £1,000Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) relies on a broad range of technology to protect the UK. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be part of a transformational team that will change the way technical solutions are delivered to operational policing.
As a DevOps Engineer, you'll join a new team of DevOps Engineers, working flexibly from home or from our offices in Birmingham or London. Together, you'll support the development pipeline for national systems that underpin CTP operations that keep the country safe.
The new team will support good development processes including:
- Managing tools and testing environments
- Upholding development standards
- Writing software that automates systems
You'll deliver automated software components that form part of a development operations tool chain - an essential role in the team.
This is no job for a beginner - you'll need a solid background in software engineering or platform infrastructure support. We're also looking for a proven track record in creating and maintaining DevOps or similar pipelines. Additionally, you'll need a sound grasp of how testing works within a CI/CD pipeline, including automated testing.
