Colorectal and General Surgeon Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Colorectal and General Surgeon Consultant to join our dynamic team at Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established team of eight consultants and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities- Provide general in-patient and outpatient adult care, including out-of-hours on-call commitment.
- Lead and develop services in line with the Trust's business plans.
- Liaise and work collaboratively with the Lead Clinician, Senior Management, and administration teams for Surgery and multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) that support the service.
- Develop and implement sub-specialties within the specialty, in line with business planning principles and commissioners' approval.
- Take corporate and individual responsibility for the professional management of doctors in training.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have:
- MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- FRCS or equivalent qualification.
- Membership of the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining this via CCT, CESR, or European Community Rights.
Desirable criteria include:
- Higher Degree, MS/MD/PhD.
- Experience in training undergraduates and postgraduates.
- Fellowship in IBD surgery.
