Job Title: Team Leader

At Great Bear, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our team. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in the management of our warehouse operations, ensuring that our teams are motivated, productive, and working safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Lead and motivate the shift team to achieve productivity and service KPIs, ensuring that all aspects of Health & Safety are monitored and enforced.
  • Health, Safety, and Hygiene: Ensure the highest possible levels of Health, Safety, and Hygiene are upheld, completing relevant paperwork and retaining records.
  • Communication: Deliver communication briefings to ensure all shift teams are aware of Company and local issues, and employees feel involved and valued.
  • Goods Inwards: Manage the Goods Inwards area to ensure receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods, ensuring stock is available to satisfy orders.
  • Team Development: Develop all team members to maximize their contributions to the Warehouse, creating a succession plan for future growth.
  • Disciplinary and Grievance: Carry out disciplinary and grievance interviews and investigations in line with Company procedure.
  • Sickness Absence: Monitor and control sickness absence levels in line with Company policy, conducting return-to-work interviews effectively and efficiently.
  • Time and Attendance: Monitor and control the time and attendance system, ensuring accurate records and minimizing downtime.
  • Overtime and Agency Workers: Ensure the appropriate levels of overtime and agency workers to efficiently and cost-effectively run the shift.
  • Company Policies: Enforce and adhere to all Company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and minimizing risk.
  • Training and Development: Monitor and control training for teams, ensuring the correct amount of Health & Safety representation on shift, such as First Aiders and Fire Marshalls.
Requirements:
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information and engage with teams.
  • Adaptability: Adaptable and methodical approach to work, training, and working hours.
  • Reliability: Conscientious and reliable, with a strong work ethic.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, prioritizing workload to meet set deadlines.
  • Leadership: Ability to work as part of a team or individually, leading by example and motivating others.
