Operations Manager

As an Operations Controller at Great Bear, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the outbound schedule to ensure timely collection and delivery of goods.
- Issue instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of work.
- Control paperwork for outbound vehicles to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Act as the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
- Communicate issues to the Shift Manager in a timely manner to minimize disruption to the schedule.
- Participate as an active member of the operations team, offering suggestions for solving problems and improving efficiency.
- Maintain good communication with transport providers to avoid late collections and delivery failures.
- Produce a thorough handover to the following shift, highlighting potential issues and reminders.
- Ability to prioritize work based on scheduling and available resources.
- Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
- Must be a team player who can work on their own initiative.
- Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
- Able to work to tight deadlines.
- Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
- PC literate in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patterns.
- Be able to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third-party hauliers.
- Should have good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.
- Strong interpersonal and conciliation skills, with the capacity to network with suppliers, hauliers, and customers.
