Job Summary

Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly experienced Senior Specialist Bariatric Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary obesity team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in assessing patients before and after bariatric surgery, including nutritional assessment, risk management, and psychological wellbeing.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support patients after weight loss surgery, assessing nutritional intake, micro-nutrient status, and psychological wellbeing in a mixture of face-to-face, video, and telephone clinics.
  • Facilitate weekly group education for patients preparing for weight loss surgery.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to assess patients for surgery and support best interest decisions.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a centre of excellence in obesity management and weight-loss surgery. Our team of experienced dietitians, nurses, and psychologists work together to provide comprehensive care for patients with severe weight problems. As a Senior Specialist Bariatric Dietitian, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and contribute to the growth and development of our team.

Requirements

  • BSc (Hons) Degree in Dietetics or equivalent.
  • HCPC Registered.
  • Sound knowledge of current issues relating to bariatric surgery and pharmacotherapy.
  • Experience in facilitating and delivering group education.
  • Managing patients with complex obesity.
  • Previous experience working in a team or multidisciplinary team.
