About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Specialist Bariatric Dietitian to join our multi-disciplinary team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our obesity team, you will play a vital role in assessing patients before and after bariatric surgery, including nutritional assessment, risk management, and psychological wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting patients after weight loss surgery, assessing nutritional intake, micro-nutrient status, and psychological wellbeing
- Facilitating weekly group education for patients preparing for weight loss surgery
- Carrying out multi-disciplinary clinics on site at Guy's, as part of the weekly Obesity Medical Obesity Clinic
- Playing a key role in MDT meetings, assessing patients for surgery and supporting best interest decisions
About You
We are looking for an experienced dietitian with a sound knowledge of current issues relating to bariatric surgery and pharmacotherapy. You will have skilled experience in facilitating and delivering group education, managing patients with complex obesity, and working in a team/MDT. A developed leadership skill to support less senior members of staff is essential.
