We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary team at King's College Hospital in London. The successful candidate will work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients undergoing bariatric surgery.

Job Overview

This is a fixed-term position to cover a career break, offering a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic and forward-thinking team. As a Band 7 Dietitian, you will be responsible for assessing patient understanding of treatment proposals, gaining valid informed consent, and managing clinical risk within your patient caseload.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To develop, apply, and disseminate expertise in dietetics, ensuring compliance with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) ethical code of practice.
  • To contribute to the local development and delivery of structured education programmes, promoting excellence in clinical care and teaching.
  • To represent the dietetic service at multi-disciplinary team meetings, integrating dietetic therapy into treatment programmes and discussing patient care, progress, and discharge planning.
  • To provide nutrition counseling to patients and carers, using a range of techniques and motivational skills to encourage change, particularly where there is non-compliance.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and patients. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020.

Requirements
  • BSc/Postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience of undertaking clinical audit and multidisciplinary team working
  • Formal teaching/lecturing experience
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £54,320 - £60,981 per annum, inclusive of HCAS. We offer a competitive package of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, a comprehensive induction programme, and a supportive working environment.
