Advanced Computing Systems Engineer

Society of Research Software Engineering invites applications for a full-time Systems Engineer position focused on simulation development. This role requires expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex simulation systems using the Structural Simulation Toolkit (SST).
About the Position:
- Estimated annual salary: $150,000.
- The ideal candidate should have strong background knowledge in computer science, computer architecture, and simulation methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain advanced simulation models using SST and other relevant tools.
- Collaborate with researchers to integrate simulation results into their workflow.
- Ensure that all developed components meet high-quality coding standards and are well-documented.
- Troubleshoot issues with existing simulations and provide efficient solutions.
- Document and present research findings to stakeholders as needed.
Requirements:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Extensive experience with C++ programming and its use cases in simulation development.
- Familiarity with Git for collaborative software development and Unix/Linux/OSX environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for resolving complex technical issues.
