Support Worker for Children with Special Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs school in Gloucestershire, UK. This is a temporary role with the possibility of extension.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children with SEN needs and relevant qualifications such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or CACHE Diploma. You will provide support to children with SEN needs in individual and group settings, create engaging and inclusive learning activities, and collaborate with teachers to develop individual education plans (IEPs).
Responsibilities- Provide support to children with SEN needs in individual and group settings.
- Create engaging and inclusive learning activities.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop individual education plans (IEPs).
- Encourage positive behaviour and provide guidance to children.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- Monitor and report on children's progress.
- Previous experience working with children with SEN needs.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE Diploma).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patientcy, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
- Good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
