Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Electrical (Control & Instrumentation) to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Control and Instrumentation team, you will be responsible for delivering complex engineering solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex integrated process control systems, providing specialist advice and producing evidence to support legislative, safety, and technical requirements.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers as part of the technical team.
  • Articulate and present technical arguments clearly, logically, and simply.
  • Execute, evaluate, deliver, and manage complex engineering and/or cross-functional tasks or programmes of work, recognizing stakeholder and customer requirements.
  • Lead and develop a small team of Control and Instrumentation engineers.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for personal/team development to ensure the professional capability of the business and individual are maintained and improved.

Requirements:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an engineering background.
  • Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle phases and technical specialities.
  • Significant experience producing and communicating design documentation and artefacts relating to Control Systems.
  • Experience developing solutions to meet complex technical requirements in a highly regulated industry/environment.
  • Obtained or capable of obtaining relevant Professional Registration (CEng).
