Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Electromagnetic Compatibility Specialist to join our team at BAE Systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented group of professionals in the field of electromagnetic compatibility, where you will be responsible for providing support to engineering delivery teams in defining electromagnetic requirements and undertaking specialist testing of systems, sub-systems, and components in support of achieving contractual compliance for EMC design.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electromagnetic compatibility, with experience in specifying and managing requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system, platforms, or programmes. They will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to advise design teams on Electromagnetic Environment (EME) requirements and design considerations.

A key aspect of this role will be mentoring and coaching engineers within the team, as well as designing and implementing system mitigation to meet EMC standards.

What We Offer

As an Electromagnetic Compatibility Specialist at BAE Systems, you can expect a competitive salary range of £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.

In addition to your salary, you will receive a range of benefits, including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave incentive, and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.

You will also have access to additional benefits such as flexible working, an employee assistance programme, Cycle2work, and employee discounts.

Relocation support packages are available across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have a BEng (Hons)/MEng or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, along with professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this.

Experience of design for EMC compliance is essential, as is knowledge of EMC Defence Standards, which would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will also have proven experience and ability to coach others in a team setting.
