Support Worker

At Orbis Education and Care, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to children and adults with complex needs associated with autism. Our team of creative education, care, and therapeutic professionals work together to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the emotional and physical well-being of each individual.
A typical day as a Support Worker at Summergil House will involve working closely with a magnificent team, including teachers, therapists, and other support workers, to create a safe and positive environment. Your role will be to provide personalised care to each person in their daily activities, including personal care, learning, and social interactions. You will also be responsible for implementing individualised care plans, under the guidance of an incredibly supportive senior team.
We are looking for individuals who possess a compassionate nature and a genuine desire to make a positive impact. If you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, and are willing to learn and follow guidance from the team, then this role may be suitable for you. A driving license and access to your own transport would be advantageous, but not essential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised care to each person in their daily activities, including personal care, learning, and social interactions.
- Foster a safe and positive environment, ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of each person.
- Implement individualised care plans, under the guidance of an incredibly supportive senior team.
- Support our young people during recreational activities, outings, and community integration.
- Collaborate with the wider team to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Promote independence, self-esteem, and confidence in our young people, celebrating their achievements and milestones.
Requirements:
- A compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Resilience and patience when faced with challenges, adapting to individual needs.
- A willingness to learn and follow guidance from the team.
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
- Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including weekends and occasional night shifts.
- A driving license and access to your own transport would be advantageous, but not essential.
