Children's Nurse Specialist

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Nurse/Registered Nurse to join our team.
About the RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Children's Nurse/Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to infants, children, and young people in our Acute Children's Outreach Nursing Service (ACORNS). As a key member of our team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide evidence-based and structured clinical telephone and video assessments to children on the ACORNS caseload.
- Carry out initial assessments/home visits and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with continuing responsibility.
- Act in partnership with the child and family to assess needs and plan care, providing advice contributing to the well-being of the patient and participating in health promotion.
- Monitor acute exacerbations of illness and initiate appropriate nursing interventions, ensuring all clinical practice is based on current local and national guidelines.
- Initiate appropriate work, accepting referrals and working autonomously with the child and family in the community setting.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Registered Nurse - Child Branch or Adults nurses with Conversion certifications.
- Experience working with children in an Acute inpatient or acute community setting.
- PILS and Acute nursing skills.
