Accounts Payable Clerk Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as an Accounts Payable Clerk. This full-time role will involve managing large volumes of data, performing monthly reconciliations, and assisting with closing monthly ledgers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and distributing invoices, coding and processing invoices accurately, preparing and processing payment runs, requesting and reconciling monthly supplier statements, and maintaining a shared mailbox.

This role also involves daily cashbook maintenance and cashbook journals, supporting the preparation of management accounts, and month-end duties.

You will work closely with the finance team and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate payments.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a role with Accounts Payable exposure.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when dealing with reconciliations and ledger closing.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with the finance team.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage 500), with the ability to efficiently manage and analyse data would be advantageous.
  • Previous exposure to handling data and performing monthly reconciliations would be desirable.
