About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Civils Department as a Commercial Quantity Surveyor. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for providing commercial support, maintaining commercial information, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial support to the project team, including financial control of projects and cost forecasting.
  • Ensure project costs are managed effectively and update the monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans.
  • Communicate directly with clients and their cost managers to ensure financial contract obligations are maintained.
  • Procure subcontractors on appropriate terms and conditions and ensure financial control of subcontract accounts.
  • Regularly update construction programs and review progress on-site, ensuring the business is covered for all Extension of Time claims.
  • Build client relationships and actively seek new work opportunities.
  • Oversee procurement of major materials and plant requirements.
  • Submit and agree Applications for Payment and track client payment certificates.
Requirements
  • HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Previous experience in the civil engineering industry.
  • Experience with JCT & NEC forms of contract.
  • Strong IT skills, including ERP Systems and Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Project Management skills and excellent record-keeping.
  • Negotiating skills and a driving license.
