Assistant Shop Manager

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Shop Manager to join our team in Christchurch. As a key member of our shop management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our shop, including managing donations, displays, and stock deliveries. You will also play a crucial role in recruiting, training, and motivating a team of volunteers to ensure the seamless operation of the shop.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of the shop, including generating donations, managing displays, and coordinating stock deliveries and collections.
- Recruit, train, and motivate a team of volunteers to ensure the shop runs smoothly.
- Work closely with the Shop Manager to shape the shop's direction and foster a welcoming environment for customers and volunteers.
- Manage cash handling and reconciliation, as well as maintain accurate records.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive experience for customers.
- Previous experience in a retail environment, with a focus on customer service and team management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of volunteers.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and occasional lone shifts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer and administration skills, with experience of using software to manage shop operations.
