Assistant Shop Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Shop Manager to join our team at Blue Cross in Christchurch. As a key member of our shop management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our shop, including managing donations, displays, and stock, as well as leading a team of volunteers to provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the shop's day-to-day operations, including generating donations, managing displays and merchandising, coordinating stock deliveries and collections, and maintaining records.
- Lead a team of volunteers to provide excellent customer service, including recruiting, training, motivating, and managing volunteers.
- Work closely with the Shop Manager to shape the shop's direction at a local level, fostering a welcoming and engaging environment for customers and volunteers alike.
- Manage the shop's finances, including handling cash and reconciling transactions.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve sales and customer engagement.
- Previous experience in a retail environment, preferably in a management role.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide a positive and welcoming experience for customers.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of volunteers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and volunteers.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
