Assistant Shop Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Shop Manager to join our team at Blue Cross in Christchurch. As a key member of our shop management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our shop, including managing donations, displays, and stock, as well as coordinating with our volunteers and staff to ensure the smooth running of the shop.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the shop's day-to-day operations, including generating donations, managing displays and merchandising, coordinating stock deliveries and collections, and maintaining records.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and manage a dedicated team of volunteers, ensuring they are aligned with our cause and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in their roles.
- Work closely with the Shop Manager to shape the shop's direction at a local level, fostering a welcoming and engaging environment for both customers and volunteers alike.
- Ensure the shop operates efficiently and effectively, meeting sales targets and contributing to the overall success of the charity.
- Previous experience in a retail environment, with a proven track record of managing teams and driving sales growth.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide a positive and welcoming experience for customers.
- Ability to motivate and guide a team of volunteers to ensure the seamless operation of the shop.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and occasional lone shifts.
