Job Overview

As an Apprentice Junior Chef at Sodexo, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen while working towards a nationally recognized qualification. You will work alongside our skilled chefs to prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for students, staff, and special events, learning essential skills in food preparation, kitchen management, and culinary creativity.

You will be responsible for supporting the catering team in delivering the day-to-day food offer and all associated responsibilities across multiple outlets, to the highest standards as required by Sodexo and client contracts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Head Chef and supporting the catering team in delivering the day-to-day food offer.
  • Preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for students, staff, and special events.
  • Learning essential skills in food preparation, kitchen management, and culinary creativity.
  • Supporting the team in all areas of the kitchen and outlets as required.
  • Ensuring safe production of food within the kitchens.
  • Undertaking training and development relevant to the role.
  • Working on special functions which may sometimes be outside of normal working hours at evenings and weekends.
