Job Title: Accounting Officer Credit Management

Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC is a leading global specialist in veterinary pharmaceuticals, and we are seeking an experienced Accounting Officer to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Accounting Officer to manage our accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate financial information is provided to management. The successful candidate will take ownership of accounts payable information, prepare payment runs, and collaborate with various departments and third parties to maintain strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts payable process, including preparation of payment runs and maintenance of strong financial controls
  • Collaborate with various departments and third parties to ensure accurate and timely financial information
  • Perform cash management and bank reconciliations
  • Conduct month-end coding on Pegasus software
  • Financial data inputting of invoices and management of head office ledgers
  • Deal with and respond to invoice and accounting queries and payments
  • Set up and maintain accurate third-party accounts in the accounting system
  • Monitor and record Board-level expenses for annual reporting
  • Manage the Group finance mailbox emails
  • Creditors ledgers reconciliations
  • Finance archiving
  • Cashbook updating and reconciliations on Pegasus software
  • Nominal reconciliations
  • Onboard new suppliers using the Dechra Third Party Risk Management Platform
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to payment approvals and financial controls
  • Assist in audits by providing supporting documentation for accounts payable transactions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements in accounts payable
Requirements:
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting systems and best practices
  • Experience in a hands-on industry/commercial role
