Maternity Quality and Safety Midwife

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Maternity Quality and Safety Midwife to join our team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinically experienced midwife to contribute to the improvement of maternity services and ensure the highest standards of care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high profile in the clinical area, developing and maintaining communication channels, and providing professional and operational support to the Midwifery clinical and management team. They will also be responsible for ensuring incidents are reported and investigated, and contributing to the development of services to meet organisational and national targets.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain communication channels to engage all roles within the service and ensure regular updates are provided.
- Provide professional and operational support to the Midwifery clinical and management team in relation to Claims, Complaints, Clinical Risk and Governance initiatives and issues.
- Assist with the day-to-day maternity risk management process and strategy, including the accurate reporting and validation of incidents onto the Datix electronic system.
- Coordinate, lead or delegate investigations and provide leadership and support for staff when serious incidents occur within maternity services.
Requirements
- Registered Midwife with up-to-date and evidence-based knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
- 5 years post-registration experience and teaching and assessing qualification/experience.
- Evidence of MDT working and post-graduate qualification and/or equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive experience.
