About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Registered Midwife to join our Maternity Quality and Safety team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Maternity Quality and Safety Midwife, you will play a key role in improving the safety and effectiveness of our maternity service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain communication channels to engage all staff and ensure regular updates are provided.
  • Provide professional and operational support to the Midwifery clinical and management team in relation to Claims, Complaints, Clinical Risk and Governance initiatives and issues.
  • Assist with the day-to-day maternity risk management process and strategy, including accurate reporting and validation of incidents onto the Datix electronic system.
  • Coordinate, lead or delegate investigations and provide leadership and support for staff when serious incidents occur within maternity services.
  • Contribute to the notification and investigation of incidents using the PMRT role.

Requirements

  • Registered Midwife with up to date and evidence-based knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
  • 5 years post-registration experience and teaching and assessing qualification/experience.
  • Evidence of MDT working and post-graduate qualification and/or equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive experience.
