Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Trainee Engineering Design Graduate to join our team at National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED). As a key member of our expert teams, you will play a vital role in delivering heat, light, and power to homes and businesses across the Midlands, Southwest England, and South Wales.

Salary and Benefits

As a graduate engineer, you can expect a competitive salary of £34,895, plus a range of benefits, including a £2,000 bonus upon completion of your programme, 26 days' annual leave, and up to £200 per month accommodation allowance during rotations.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing electrical, protection/control, mechanical, and civil designs for schemes to construct, extend, or modify electricity substations
  • Assisting teams with substation option assessments and developing selected schemes into fully specified build packages
  • Configuring programmable scheme logic for protection relays and designing substation plant and protection systems up to 132kV
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a minimum 2:2 degree in Electrical Engineering, Maths, Sciences, or Data Science. Additionally, you must have a full valid UK driving license and flexibility to travel within the role and throughout your rotations as required.
