Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Nurse to join our OUTSTANDING Emergency Department in East London. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment, providing excellent leadership to our Nursing team.

Job Description

This role involves working as an independent practitioner, providing advanced clinical practice in the assessment and management of patients in the Emergency Department. You will also be responsible for demonstrating an advanced level of leadership and operational management, ensuring nursing and medical staff at all levels feel supported.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as an independent practitioner whilst providing advanced clinical practice in the assessment and management of patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Demonstrate an advanced level of leadership and operational management, ensuring nursing and medical staff at all levels feel supported.
  • Independently manage the Department on a shift-to-shift basis in the absence of a Band 7 Senior Sister.

The successful candidate will have significant experience at Band 5 in the specialty and evidence of organizational and leadership potential. They will also need an understanding of recent developments in Emergency Nursing and be able to translate and implement this into quality nursing care.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Substantive post-registration experience in accident and emergency at Band 5.
  • Capable of carrying out physical activities as required.
