About the Role
Achieving for Children is a Community Interest Company that has a public sector ethos, combined with the freedom to innovate enabling us to do things differently. As a not-for-profit social enterprise owned by three local authorities, we offer the freedoms of a social enterprise with the employment benefits of local government.
We are looking for Family Hub Casual Workers to manage a caseload effectively and engage and support referred families with multiple needs. This is a zero hour casual position and will be paid at an hourly rate up to £16.49 plus holiday pay.
About the Family Hubs
Family Hubs are an evolution of our Children's Centres, expanding our parenting programme and working closely with the youth service and other partners for an all-age offer. All families with children aged 0 - 11 and expectant mothers and fathers, can go to help their children to get the best start in life.
The role will support the delivery of Family Hub provision across a geographical area. To support the provision of a range of sessions, activities and events in the Family Hubs to promote opportunities for children aged 0 - 11 years and their families to engage proactively in:
- To ensure that children are in a safe environment by complying with all policies, procedures and standards, ensuring health and safety and hygiene standards are high.
- Provide environments that are welcoming and supportive to all children and families who attend the sessions. Set up and clear sites at the beginning and end of every session as appropriate.
- To lead in providing creche support for children and families.
- Safely support children in an environment suitable for their needs, take appropriate action in an emergency, reporting incidents or any significant concerns identified during the sessions/activities.
- To work as part of a team to ensure sessions are of high quality including the maintenance of the equipment and resources. To be involved with the planning of activities in line with the EYFS and other national statutory guidance and support tracking and monitoring where appropriate.
- Ensure corporate safeguarding procedures and practices are followed at all times.
- To provide administrative support for all the hub sites, including outreach sites, across the area as required. Working as an integral member of the Family Hub staff team.
- Be the first point of contact, and warmly meet, greet and receive all members of the public and all professionals entering the Family Hub and outreach sites, providing information, support and signposting as relevant.
- Communicate with families in a professional manner to develop trust, gain an understanding of their child's needs and to inform them of their child's achievements during the session.
About You
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Experienced of direct working within a childcare setting in education, social services or voluntary sector setting.
- Able to communicate effectively with a range of children, families and professionals.
- Able to keep accurate records and maintain confidentiality.
- Experienced of a range of general administrative and front of house duties in a busy, customer focussed environment such as meeting and greeting visitors, answering telephone calls and email enquiries and ensuring the reception and general building is kept clean and tidy.
- Evidence that you have the skills required to effectively support children and their families.
