Achieving for Children, a Community Interest Company, is seeking an experienced Housing Project Worker to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills and experience within the supported housing sector. As a Housing Project Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest health and safety standards are met, making vulnerable young people's living space safe, secure, and homely.

You will oversee daily activities such as managing finances, deep cleaning void rooms, and reporting repairs. You will also engage with young people, offering support that is needed, including liaising with professionals and dealing with incidents as and when they occur.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day finances, including raising Purchase Orders, banking, petty cash, and ordering supplies.
  • Deep clean of void rooms, putting together flat pack furniture, and gardening.
  • Report repairs and ensure compliance works are carried out, dealing with contractors on site.
  • Ensure regular Health & Safety checks of communal areas and equipment are completed and communal areas are regularly cleaned.

In the absence of key workers, you will provide support to young people, including liaison with professionals and incident management.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills that are open, honest, persuasive, and pragmatic, including excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

  • A competitive salary of £23,000 - £25,000 per annum (pro rata to hours worked).
