The Compliance Officer / File Checker will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Compliance Director in developing and implementing comprehensive compliance policies and procedures throughout the organization, including terms and conditions, advice frameworks, and scanning processes.
- Conducting thorough file checks of advice cases to ensure adherence to both internal standards and regulatory requirements, providing constructive feedback on areas for improvement.
- Conducting regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
- Providing advice and guidance on the interpretation of regulatory requirements and their implications for business operations.
- Staying up-to-date with, interpreting, and communicating changes in regulatory requirements to relevant departments, ensuring that all policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
- Conducting compliance training sessions for employees to ensure company-wide awareness and understanding of compliance policies and regulatory requirements.
- Managing and reporting on the handling of complaints in accordance with regulatory guidelines, ensuring effective resolutions.
- Supporting the Compliance Director in their capacity as the main point of contact with regulatory bodies, managing all communications and reporting requirements.
- Maintaining effective relationships with external third-party compliance support services.
- Fostering a compliance culture within the organization and contributing to strategic planning from a regulatory perspective.
The successful Compliance Officer / File Checker will have:
- A Level 4 CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent relevant qualification, or working towards this.
- Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or similar role within a financial services organization.
- A thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
