Job Title: Compliance Monitoring Team Leader

The Betfred Group is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Monitoring Team Leader to join our Retail Anti Money Laundering team. As a key member of our compliance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation of our risk-based approach to Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deputise for the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in their absence, providing leadership and guidance to the team.
  2. Assess internal Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and decide whether to submit them externally to the National Crime Agency (NCA).
  3. Monitor and review the effectiveness of AML analyst daily/weekly tasks, identifying trends and system weaknesses.
  4. Develop and implement monitoring systems/controls to mitigate existing and newly identified risks.
  5. Manage, monitor, and audit the effectiveness of all AML policies, procedures, and controls.
  6. Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-net-worth customers, documenting findings and making recommendations to senior managers.
  7. Report suspicious activity to the MLRO and submit SARs to the NCA as required.
  8. Assist in the development and delivery of staff training materials, ensuring that all employees are aware of current and relevant AML/CTF laws, legislation, and industry guidance.
Requirements:
  1. Confident in dealing with senior management and able to provide leadership and guidance to the team.
  2. Experience of CDD/AML procedures would be an advantage.
  3. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  4. Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task, with a strong knowledge of current and prospective regulation that impacts business.
  5. Qualification in AML (or studying for qualification) and experience in a management role/leadership position.
  6. Ability to work in a dynamic environment, with flexibility and a willingness to travel.
