We are seeking a skilled Academic Affairs and Library Liaison to join our team at the University Library in London. As a hybrid role, this position combines responsibilities from both the Library and Academic Affairs teams, providing a unique opportunity for growth and development.

As a key member of the library team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our library remains a welcoming space for all users. You will work closely with the Librarian to actively contribute to an efficient, customer-focused, and student-centred library service.

This part-time role involves working between 14:00-20:00 each day, making you the senior presence in the library during this time. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting students and faculty with literature searches using online and printed resources
  • Responding to queries received in-person, via phone, and digitally
  • Maintaining and optimising Blackboard systems
  • Cataloguing new acquisitions
  • Providing basic maintenance of the library's resources
  • Supporting the Academic Affairs team with administrative tasks, data entry, preparing welcome packs, etc.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree and strong general IT literacy
  • A flexible approach and ability to work evenings
  • Experience in front-line library services, working with diverse service users
  • An empathetic approach to students and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan, manage workload, and work independently

Prior experience in library management systems, educational technology, or Library and Information Studies would be advantageous.

Working Hours: First week - 13th to 16th January: 09:00 to 14:00. Subsequent weeks until April: 14:00 to 20:00.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 per annum
