About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Practice Development Nurse to join our team at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our CLCH Academy, you will play a vital role in promoting high standards of care and facilitating practice development across our Children's Community Nursing and Special School Nursing teams.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Promoting Clinical Excellence: You will be responsible for promoting high standards of care through the demonstration of clinical expertise and leadership skills.
  2. Facilitating Learning and Development: You will facilitate the creation of a positive learning environment in the workplace, where staff development is encouraged and supported.
  3. Induction, Education, and Professional Development: You will be responsible for facilitating the induction, education, and continuing professional development for all levels of registered and non-registered nursing staff within the Children's Community and Special School Nursing Teams.
  4. Practice Development and Change Management: You will work alongside staff in individual teams, undertaking a key role in practice development and change management.
  5. Translating Academy Priorities: You will translate Academy priorities, such as changes in nursing standards and new clinical roles, into their designated service.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Essential Qualifications: Registered Children's Nurse, working towards a Master's degree level qualification or equivalent, clinical leadership training, and evidence of continuing personal and professional development.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Community Children's Nursing qualification, project management qualification, and learning and development qualification.
  • Essential Experience: Experience within Children's nursing acute ward-based, community, or Special School Nursing Services, experience supporting learning and development, experience of delivering on development initiatives and leading change with individuals and teams, and experience of report writing and presentation.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of the national priorities relating to provision of complex children's nursing services, knowledge of practice development and change management, leadership skills, relationship building skills, influencing skills, awareness of the equalities and diversity agenda, self-motivated towards own professional growth and development, flexible to work patterns, and committed to improving quality.
