We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Registrar to join our team in Intensive Care Medicine at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and supportive team of 16 Critical Care Consultants, leading the Critical Care Department.

The department delivers care across two areas, totalling 32 beds, providing Level 2 and Level 3 care to over 1800 patients annually. A six-bedded Cardiothoracic ICU sits adjacent to the General ICU, admitting around 600 patients per annum.

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is a Major Trauma Centre, working as part of the Scottish Trauma Network, and a base for the North Division of the Emergency Medical Retrieval Service.

The department is extremely supportive for training, with great trainee feedback via the GMC and STS surveys. Opportunities are available to develop new and additional skills in extracorporeal life support, echocardiography, education, and simulation, quality improvement, and research.

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is a tertiary referral centre for the Grampian and Highland regions and the Northern Isles. Close links with the University of Aberdeen have made ARI a centre of pioneering medical research in several fields.

Aberdeen is a cosmopolitan city, offering a great range of cultural activities. Its close proximity to beautiful coastline, hills, and awe-inspiring countryside makes it ideal for those seeking an exciting outdoor lifestyle.
