Learning Support Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a Special Educational Needs school in Cheltenham. As part of our team, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to develop individual education plans (IEPs) for each child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to children with SEMH needs in both individual and group settings
- Create and deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities tailored to each child's specific needs
- Collaborate with teachers to develop IEPs and monitor progress
- Encourage positive behaviour and provide guidance to help children manage their emotions
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is essential
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
