Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Secretary to join our Ophthalmology Service at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our medical staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to medical staff and nurse specialists
  • Manage enquiries from internal and external agencies
  • Liaise with other departments within the trust to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Line manage junior team members and oversee their development
  • Manage MPAs, sickness, and leave
  • Provide administrative support in outpatient clinics
  • Ensure efficient audio typing and administration services
About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong organizational and communication skills. As a Medical Secretary, you will be working closely with our medical staff and other departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Requirements
  • Good general education, preferably English Language to GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Experience of using Careflow (Patient Admissions System) database, e-track, Evolve, Epro/Winscribe, ANGLIA ICE
  • Competent use of MS Word
  • Good written and verbal communication
