Clinical Psychologist

The post holder will work in collaboration with other members of the Eating Disorders Service as part of the team providing community treatment for people with eating disorders. The postholder will contribute to the development of a new Trust-wide outpatient service for adult patients with eating disorders and their carers.
Key Responsibilities
This post primarily involves psychological assessment, including assessment and monitoring of risk, formulating, planning and implementing both individual and group psychological interventions; consultancy to and supervision of a range of staff in mental health services; teaching and training; service audit/evaluation and research including guidance and supervision on relevant projects;
Person Specification
Essential
- Qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist (Eligible for Chartered Psychologist Status)
- Training in assessment and treatment of eating disorders patients
Essential
- Ability to assess general mental health and psychopathology, including personality disorder
- Ability to assess and manage psychiatric risk associated with self-harm
- Knowledge of eating disorder patients; including models of symptom aetiology and maintenance
- Awareness of NICE guidelines for the assessment and treatment of eating disorders
- Ability to assess eating disorder symptoms and recognition of potential medical complications
Essential
- Experience of working with patients with an eating disorder
- Experience of group-based treatments
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
