Community Activities Coordinator

The Community Activities Coordinator will play a key role in delivering Groundwork's mission of supporting people to improve their prospects and reach their full potential. This involves working closely with the Furness For You partnership, its participants, and volunteers to create a varied activities programme that promotes independence, resilience, choice, and dignity.
Key Responsibilities- Organise and create a range of activities, from creative pursuits to group events, to support participants in developing valuable personal and work-based skills.
- Deliver an introduction to activities and ensure all activities are completed in a safe manner.
- Provide support for the development of soft skills, helping participants to progress during their time on the Furness For You Programme.
- Work on own initiative and self-manage workload while being a team player and recognising the importance of partnership working.
- Have previous experience of running activity-based sessions and tracking improvements using Action Plans/STAR Outcomes or similar.
- Ability to motivate people who lack confidence and have customer care skills, caring, and empathetic.
- Experience of data collection and collation, including writing reports and case studies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work as part of a team and individually.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to the needs of participants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- IAG Level 2 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the local voluntary and community sector and experience of working with people who have multiple barriers.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience of following safe lone working practice guidelines.
- Knowledge & Experience of writing and completing risk assessments.
