Actuarial Pension Specialist

Lane Clark & Peacock LLP is seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Pension Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our pensions actuarial department, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice to clients on various aspects of pensions, investments, and employee benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Work with a diverse range of clients, including trustee and corporate schemes, to provide technical expertise and advice on pensions and investments.
- Attend client meetings and present technical issues to clients, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing support and guidance on a day-to-day basis.
- Manage a small team of actuarial staff to produce high-quality client work on time and within budget.
- Provide training and development opportunities to junior actuarial staff, ensuring their growth and success.
- Lead the core work on actuarial valuations, solvency testing, and buy-in analysis, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Draft and review client advice, including trust deeds and rules, member booklets, and individual member calculations.
- Estimate Pension Protection Fund levies and calculate Actuarial Certificates of Deficit Reduction Contributions.
- Prepare cash flows for asset-liability models and monitor pension scheme funding levels on an ongoing basis.
- Take a proactive role in keeping clients informed of technical developments and anticipating their needs.
- Liaise with other client advisers to ensure efficient provision of advice and support.
- Hold a qualification in actuarial science or a related field, with post-qualification experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK pensions work, including actuarial valuations, solvency testing, and buy-in analysis.
- Supervisory experience of junior actuarial staff, with a proven track record of developing and mentoring team members.
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
