Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our road freight policy theme. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive forward our goals for this policy theme, working closely with colleagues across the Directorate and the business.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver policy positions and campaigns on the road freight theme, with the ability to adapt to emerging topics and issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and members.
- Provide expert policy support across Logistics UK on road freight issues, helping to deliver wider business objectives.
- Act as Secretary to assigned councils and working groups, arranging engagement, speakers, and meetings.
- Line manage senior policy managers, policy managers, and senior policy advisors, ensuring their work aligns with our policy theme goals.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Persuasive and articulate communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to represent Logistics UK externally at the highest levels of government and with media.
- Team player able to contribute to Logistics UK's wider policy, communications, and commercial objectives.
- Understanding of how public policy is developed and how to influence it.
