Head of Road Freight Policy

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our road freight policy efforts at Logistics UK. As Head of Road Freight Policy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive forward our goals in this area.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of road freight policy issues and their impact on Logistics UK members.
- Lead the development of policy positions and campaigns on road freight issues, working closely with colleagues across the Directorate and the business.
- Provide expert policy support to colleagues and members on road freight issues, ensuring that they are well-informed and equipped to engage with decision-makers.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and media representatives.
- Represent Logistics UK at external events and conferences, promoting our policy positions and engaging with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective communications strategies to promote our policy positions and engage with members.
- Line manage a team of policy professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to deliver their responsibilities.
- Proven experience in policy development and implementation, with a strong understanding of road freight issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions to complex policy issues.
- Education to degree level or equivalent, with a strong understanding of policy development and implementation.
