Job Title: Electrical Power Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join our team at the National HVDC Centre. As a key member of our power system studies team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the deployment of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission technologies to deliver our net-zero targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop models of transmission systems and carry out simulations using specialist tools to identify feasibility, risks, and mitigation.
  • Support planning and commissioning activities by providing technical expertise and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of HVDC technologies into our transmission network.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a 2:2 BEng in Electrical Power Engineering.
  • Practical work or project experience in the energy sector, with a focus on power system studies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
