Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Support Assistant to join a Special Needs School in Scunthorpe.

This is a full-time, long-term role with the possibility of going permanent for the right candidate. As a Special Needs Support Assistant, you will provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), make a real difference to the lives of young students, and work closely with teachers to ensure students receive the necessary support to excel academically.

Responsibilities:

  • Offering support to students with their studies, including one-to-one tuition.
  • Supporting pupils with complex needs and providing guidance and support to students to ensure their welfare is protected.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Contributing to the development of school policies and strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a care or support role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • A caring and nurturing personality.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • A valid DBS check.
