About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at HMP Winchester. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and making a positive impact on the lives of our service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop individualized packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning.
  • Deliver a range of treatment options, including clinical and psychosocial interventions, in both group and one-to-one settings.
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans, and confidently communicate treatment options to service users.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects, and liaise with prescribers.
Requirements
  • Qualified Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a passion for developing clinical skills in an ever-changing environment.
  • RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake this to support development.
  • Experience of working with opiate-dependent patients is advantageous, as is sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
