About the Role

We are seeking a qualified nurse or paramedic to join our team at Care & Custody - A Mitie Company. As a Police Custody Nurse or Paramedic, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment, providing high-quality care to detainees in police custody suites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional care to detainees in police custody suites, working closely with the police to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Work in a team environment, covering custody suites 24/7 to ensure the safety of detainees.
  • Participate in a rolling rota pattern of 4 shifts on and 4 off, with the opportunity to work in a variety of locations across the police force area.
  • Deliver gold standard care, prioritizing the health and wellbeing of detainees.
  • Develop clinical, forensic, and wider skills, with opportunities for career progression and professional development.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary of £40,000 per year.
  • A £1000 bonus after completing 12 months of service.
  • Full-time employment, with fixed shift working patterns.
  • Average estimated overtime of £3500 per annum.
  • NMC/HCPC registration paid.
  • Full training provided, with no previous forensic experience required.

Person Specification
  • Driving Licence (required).
  • Must be a UK resident for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months.
  • All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting.
  • RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration): 2 years post qualification - Band 5 minimum.
  • Paramedic: 2 years post qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant field.
