Principal Clinical Scientist - Urodynamics & Clinical Instrumentation

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated healthcare professional to fill a 12-month maternity leave cover position in our Urology department. This role will involve providing urodynamic services for outpatient, ambulatory, and video urodynamics.

Main Responsibilities

The primary objective of this post is to lead, supervise, and maintain services requiring urodynamics, with a focus on providing routine clinical diagnostic services in Urology to University College Hospitals, University College Hospitals at Westmoreland Street, and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

This role will involve directing and carrying out Pressure/Flow Studies (Cystometrogram or CMG) in the Out-Patients Department and Video-Cystometrogram (VCMG) in the Uro-radiology Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient contact, interpretation of clinical investigations, and reporting findings to referring clinicians.

Requirements
  • First and Higher Degrees in a Physical Science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Eligibility for State Registration as a Clinical Scientist
  • Membership of a relevant Professional Institute
  • PhD or equivalent research experience
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD and in-service training and meetings
  • Chartered Engineer or Chartered Scientist
Experience
  • Experience working in a scientific healthcare environment
  • Experience in routine clinical urodynamics measurement
Communication
  • Record of published papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Record of presenting work at major scientific meetings
Specific Requirements
  • Ability to manage technical projects
