The Role:
This exciting opportunity is for a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer to work in a dynamic and diverse team of professionals, delivering exceptional results for clients while contributing to the company's mission to tackle the global climate crisis.
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Geology, Geography, or Earth Sciences and be able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team. They will be responsible for supporting the Geo division by allocating tasks, resources, and prioritizing activities as directed by the Senior Engineer or Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the supervision of ground investigation works, including mentoring and shadowing.
- Travel throughout the UK, with approximately 80% of time spent working away from home and 20% in the Wakefield office.
- Attend and pass internal and industry-recognized external training courses, such as PTS, NRASWA, CCNSG, CAT, First Aid, and manual handling training.
- Log soil and rock in accordance with BS5930:2020.
- Install and monitor various instrumentation, including gas and groundwater, inclinometer, vibrating wire piezometer, magnetic extensometers, water level divers, and more.
- Undertake gas and groundwater sampling.
- Support the Geo, Survey, and Applied Technologies departments with site-based projects as required.
- Timely data management, processing, and reporting.
- Assist with yard maintenance, including soil sample organization and monitoring equipment hiring/off-hiring, maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
- Adhere to RSK company policies and client procedures when on site.
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge, including British Standards and industry standards.
About You:
We are looking for a self-motivated, solutions-focused, and organized individual with excellent time management skills. The ideal candidate will have a valid UK driving license, unrestricted work rights in the UK, and be willing to work flexible hours when required.
