Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer

The role is based in Wakefield but can be worked from anywhere in the UK, with a mix of fieldwork and travel, including overnight stays in local accommodations. We offer a full-time, permanent position, with flexibility to consider part-time applications.
As a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will provide support to the Geo division, allocating tasks and resources as directed by the Senior Engineer or Project Manager. You will be accountable for your work and will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising ground investigation works, with mentoring and shadowing provided.
- Travel throughout the UK, with approximately 80% of time spent working away from home and 20% in the Wakefield office.
- Attend and pass internal and industry-recognized training courses, such as PTS, NRASWA, CCNSG, CAT, First Aid, and manual handling training.
- Log soil and rock in accordance with BS5930:2020.
- Install and monitor various instrumentation, including gas and groundwater, inclinometer, vibrating wire piezometer, magnetic extensometers, water level divers, and more, across various projects.
- Conduct gas and groundwater sampling.
- Support the Geo, Survey, and Applied Technologies departments with site-based projects as needed.
- Manage data processing, reporting, and timely data management.
- Assist with yard maintenance, including soil sample organization, arrangement, and delivery.
- Oversee monitoring equipment hiring, maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
- Adhere to RSK company policies and client procedures when on site.
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge, including British Standards and industry standards, with company support.
About You:
We are looking for a collaborative and innovative individual with a BSc in Geology, Geography, Earth Sciences, or a related field. You should be able to follow instructions, work in a team, and use your initiative to solve problems. A commitment to safety, self-motivation, and effective time management are essential. Familiarity with data management tools and reporting software is a plus. You should be adaptable, computer literate, and able to work remotely and in variable environments.
