Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Consultant to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing senior medical cover for 18 acute inpatients on Norman ward.

Main Responsibilities
  • Chair and lead multidisciplinary review meetings to ensure timely assessments and effective care planning.
  • Attend clinical governance meetings to review the quality of care provided and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in business meetings to provide a senior clinical perspective and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the ward manager to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and achieve key performance targets.
  • Ensure effective use of medical resources and provide regular supervision to trainees and non-training medical staff.
  • Engage with families and carers to ensure their views are considered in patient care and discharge planning.
  • Participate in directorate and sub-directorate meetings to address specific issues affecting the directorate or sub-directorate.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration.
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant psychiatry experience.
